Tips for using the Garage Organization Checklist

  • Commit yourself to not bringing new items into the garage unless they are needed and fit a category. Tossing items in there just to have them out the way will lead to clutter.
  • Clean out the garage every 3 to 6 months. This means dusting, scrubbing, and putting items back in their proper place. This may seem minor, but mildew, bacteria, and disarray can build up fast.
  • Make sure the garage has proper lighting and air ventilation. If you work in your garage, you need it to be well-lit and easy to breathe in.
