One’s bedroom should be a place of personal peace, personality, and relaxation. Unfortunately this usually means we neglect cleaning in favor of lying down and catching up on sleep. The quick Bedroom Cleaning Checklist will help you easily organize and de-clutter your bedroom to make it the serene haven you deserve.
How to use the Bedroom Cleaning Checklist
After downloading the link at the bottom, open the Excel sheet which has four columns: the area of the room to clean, the items that take up that space (for better or worse), the task to de-clutter the area, and finally the box to check off what you have completed.
The area column just covers the common furniture and places in a bedroom, so add more if needed. Under the items section, there is listed a few common items (that should or should not be there) that generally end up in that area.
The task column extends deeper into this, detailing how to first clean the area and then remove the clutter that doesn’t need to be there. It also includes items that should be placed in that area.
Tips for using the Bedroom Cleaning Checklist
- Storage bins and containers are the best tool to use when de-cluttering a space. Get some that match your room’s aesthetic and use them to store everything from socks to CDs.
- Make a habit of removing unneeded items as soon as you’re done using them in your bedroom. This will drastically cut down on clutter.
- Consider investing in strong, quality furniture to help store and organize items. A jewelry cabinet for example is a great display piece and will hold your trinkets so they aren’t lost.
- A general guideline to follow with this spreadsheet is to follow the steps of: Empty, clean and dust, put the essentials back, and move/throw away everything else.
