If you’re only tackling the house during Spring Cleaning, chances are you have a mess on your hands. The Daily Cleaning Checklist is an easy way to categorize and clean your house in less than an hour. Following this guide daily will keep your big cleaning projects to a minimum since nothing can build up.
How to use the Excel Daily Cleaning Checklist
Download this one page spreadsheet and print it out or use it on your computer. The checklist starts with areas of the bedroom, followed by the bathroom and living room, and finally the kitchen. Each cleaning activity only takes a few minutes but makes a big difference in stopping clutter and dirt.
The “Cleaning Spot” column is what area of the room you are going to tackle. The “Process” column focuses on the parts that most quickly get cluttered/dirty. Most of it just needs a quick wipe-down or dusting.
Check off each row that you complete and then settle back knowing your house is now clean.
Tips for using the Daily Cleaning Checklist
- If you miss a day, your house won’t fall into an episode of “Hoarders”. If you’re particularly busy, carve out an hour three or four days a week to cleaning.
- Keep a basket under your sink with all the tools you need for the quick daily cleaning. This way you can just bring the basket out and go through the house with it. Make sure to switch out sponges and clothes frequently to avoid mildew or grime buildup.
- Split the rooms up if you have roommates/children/a partner to save even more time.
- If you have trees or bushes, it may be beneficial to add outside daily cleaning to the mix.
